I always have been fascinated by photography.
But with the introduction of the digital camera it all became too easy, too predictable …to me.
So I forced myself to go back to the roots of real analog photography.
Not just by making the photograph itself, but by controlling the entire photographic process.

This brought me back to the middle of the 19th century, to the amazing Collodion wet plate process.
And every single day I feel challenged to refine and improve myself.

Great exposure for my work

It took a little longer but finally some great free exposure for my photography.

A few months ago my friend Ferry van der Vliet introduced me and my work to the managing director of the
Society Shop Netherlands. http://www.thesocietyshop.n...l/
We discussed the possibility of showing my work in their windows for a period of 3-4 weeks.
There were almost no limitations and I was even able to place some historical camera's
which have been used for making these pictures.

Many thanks to Ferry, Edo and Martin for creating and offering me this great opportunity!

The making of "Tea time....."

This was the third time we tried to capture a picture I had in mind called "Tea time...."
During the first time the sun was to bright so the result was not what I had in mind.
The second time I was unlucky. Holding a box with my chemicals including 2 glass bottles
of silver nitrate I fell down the stairs and broke my foot...
So this was the third attempt and I must say: "I am HAPPY...."
We were able to use the beautiful garden of Mr. and Mrs. Bakermans
which is located only 500 meters from my place.
Many thanks for hosting your garden!!
It took us a few hours to make this plate but this was exactly what I had in mind.
As usual, hours having lots of fun....

Original bellows, in very good condition.
Camera is in very nice condition with only a little work.
The 2 original crews to tighten the tilt function are missing ...but can be made quite easy. No plate holder
It has a ground glass but it is covered with semi transparent paper!
It looks original to me but have never seen it before.
If you want glass, just grind the ground glass which is already in it

price 550,= (ex shipping costs)

P.s. the camera already has a new ground glass. So that's fixed.

How to remove silver stains?

Many of you wet platers will have the same problem:
Silver stains on your clothes.
It always happens too your favourite jeans or blouse.
Well, don't worry.
They are quite easy too remove.
In this case I have been using a few drops of KCN.
But it can also done with a normal rapid fixer (pure)
Just put a few drops on the silver stains and leave it for a few hours
After it has dried you will notice that the stains are completely gone.
When you have been using KCN, don't forget to wash it before you put it on again!
You can also use this trick with stains on a carpet or floor.
Make sure you cover everything when using KCN !!!
